Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer in women worldwide and the most common cause of cancer
death in US women aged 20 to 59 years. Each year in the United States, approximately 211,000 women develop
breast cancer and more than 47,000 (20%) do so before the age of 50 years. Approximately 2 in 15 American women
are expected to develop breast cancer in their lifetime, and nearly 40,000 women die of the disease annually. During
the past 4 decades, breast cancer rates have risen steadily worldwide and have risen even faster in more developed
